My name is Julie Ann Walker, owner of Ruby Jane Events. I have a degree in Interior design and a love for love. After planning my own wedding in 2018 I realized my love for designing weddings. After my college graduation and my wedding I quickly got a job at an event venue in Salt Lake City. The best part of that job is meeting with happy couples! I adore seeing people in love and getting ready to celebrate with their families. I have also worked with Mohawk Group, a commercial design company, planning their quarterly events. I have worked with Rachael Ellen Events on some of the most beautiful fine art weddings in the past few months.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the US, events were scarce. Meaning, I had a lot of time at home. So with my down time I decided it was time to start working on something I had been planning on and waiting for. I started with our logo and branding. I took the Rachael Ellen Events and Mary Claire Photography branding course and worked on their principles and got things started!
Once logo and branding were set, I got our website design going. Once designed I sent it off to a web developer to bring it to life. When the website was done and ready everything else fell into place; advertising, licensing, pricing, etc.
Now, here we are! Ruby Jane is up and running and ready to start booking weddings! I cannot wait to begin working with all of you people in love.
You may be wondering where the name “Ruby Jane” came from. “Ruby” is my birthstone as well as my mothers. “Jane” is my mother’s name. Rubies were very special to us as we shared it as a birth stone and wore jewelry representing them often! It may be cheesy but my mom has been my inspiration for everything, my entire life. She is so hardworking and kind, two things I want to incorporate into my business every step of the way!
